Honestly, I was a little skeptical about the layout and format of the book prior to going through it. I’ve been an eager student of Bill Hybels leadership tenets for over a decade when I first attended Global Leadership Summit, as a volunteer at a Northern California satellite location which just happened to be at the church I attended.

It reads quick as it is essentially his leadership proverbs, truths discovered over his years as senior pastor at Willow Creek and digested into bite size chunks. One that was new for me? Account Options Sign in. The ONE book on leadership that every pastor or Christian in leadership should read and re-read. The more I read, the more I got involved with the text, asiom. There is so much great stuff in here that I think I should add this to an annual reading list to try and remind myself of it.

If I were responsible for staff management at a church, it would be a must-read during any new staffer’s probationary period as well as a year’s worth of ice-breakers in our staff meetings.

The idea of pushing on one project for six weeks makes a great deal of sense to me.

Hybel’s Axioms are a must read especially for young leaders in the church. My only real critique is that I do think some chapters could have been made to be a bit more profound.
